What is this peplum exactly you ask?

Well, the peplum is a short overskirt attached to a skirt, a dress, a jacket or a blouse.

The word itself originates from greek – peplos – a woman’s garment that looked like a sort of an overskirt.

The peplum is a great trend not only because it gives an elegant something to the outfit, but it also flatters the body.

This silhouette accentuates the waist, hides the tummy and gives the body a more curvy and feminine look.

Lately the peplum exploded everywhere but a few years ago the first one that brought attention to the peplum dresses was the one and the only Victoria Beckham. Actually, no wonder it was her, Victoria knows exactly what is flattering for the feminine body and we can see that in her designs.
