I DON’T REALLY NEED GLASSES
At the end of 2023 I made the decision to FINALLY get my eyes checked. Yes, it had been quite a while. When I say quite a while, I mean 10 plus years since I had had my eyes looked at professionally. I mean, why would I ? I had 20/20 vision. No need for an eye exam. I went in to the eye doctor in November of 2023 and left there with a prescription for PROGRESSIVES which I initially thought I did NOT need. But, alas, I did.
NOW WHAT DO I DO
Once I got over the initial shock of needing glasses and then wearing them and realizing how I could actually see things SO MUCH BETTER, I decided to dive into the world of glasses and fashion of course. I immediately wanted to find out what trends were out there right now and how could I make these things look cute every day! Truly, glasses are just another accessory so why not have fun with it? Here are my current 5 favorite eyewear trends right now!!
TRANSPARENT
I feel that the transparent frame trend is typically pretty easy for most to wear! It is a lighter look and tends to be able to be worn with a variety of outfits. I love the mix of the clear and black of the top. Next in line is a classic all clear pair that would go with everything! Next to the clear is a light grey pair that I also think would look great if you are wearing more color in your outfit. The neutral translucent pair on the bottom row is so subtly feminine and chic with the cat eye shape. The square crystal brown pair on the bottom row are also a versatile square shape that look great on many face shapes.
COLORFUL
The colorful frame trend is playful and fun and just makes me smile. The top red pair is adorable and the color red would pop especially when wearing black or white! The next pair down is actually called himalayan salt matte and is neutral but still stands out as a fun color and would look great with so many other colors! The yellow pair is also a fun pop of color that would look great with black and white or denim too! The bottom row red pair is a great option in a square frame that is a little more subtle. I am also loving the peacock green pair at the bottom, green is another “it” color this year so would be a great way to carry that trend through as well!
WIRE & METAL
The wire and metal trend is great, I love having a wire pair to wear when I want something a little lighter in weight, it really does make a difference! The top hot pink pair is super cute in a square shaped frame! I am also loving the round rose gold pair, I feel like they have a little funkier feel without being overbearing. Next in line is another rose gold pair with a slight hint of burgundy at the top of the frame. On the bottom row we have a matte rose gold pair that has a geometric feel to it. The brushed ink wire pair on the bottom right would be perfect with almost any outfit!
CAT EYES
Oh the cat eyes…I love the vintage flair of all of these and a few are definitely on my wish list! The top pair are a shiny rose gold and so sassy, I love! The white and gold wire pair are a great way to wear this trend in a more subtle way and still so fun. The pink cat eye pair is super cute and would look great with so many different outfits. The glossy green pair is on the top of my wish list, love the green so much! Finally, the classic black pair would be a staple in any eyewear collection!
1970’S OVERSIZED
Ending with my favorite trend, 1970’s and oversized! How fun is that? The top pair is also on my wish list, super chic and still versatile. Next down are from the Iris Apfel X Zenni Aviary collection and they are so so fun! These would also look great with a sunglass lense! Another green selection, the sage green pair is so glamorous! A fun pair is the square crystal yellow glasses, they would elevate any outfit! Lastly, the chai crystal fade pair are neutral and still super stylish!
