I love handbags. I love big ones, small ones, across your body, tote, waist, clutch, all…the…bags. If you know me, you know that if I need a retail pick me up, a new handbag is my go to purchase. My ultimate favorite brand in the handbag world is Kate Spade. I love the simple designs, the occasional funky details and just the overall classic quality of Kate Spade. In this article I reallllly tried to not just look at Kate Spade, I looked at affordable, reputable handbag sources to hi-light some of my favorite trends in the bag world for 2024!

GIVE ME ALL OF THE BEADS

I am dying for this beaded trend this year! I feel like you get such a beautiful statement piece to amp up any outfit any time of the year! Anthropologie knocked it out of the park with this trend with the Fiona Beaded Bag Bloom Edition and the Fiona Beaded Bag Chain Edition. Both super fun and elegant while also unique and approachable! Another Anthropologie find is the Tate Beaded Handbag, a little more bohemian in this beautiful blush pink. J. Crew’s Hand Beaded Faux Pearl Mini Bag is a modern spin on a very classic look! Last but not least is the fuchsia powerhouse by Olga Berg, The Casey Hot Fix Crystal Clutch. Offered in five different colors and such a great size, this little clutch would look great especially with a LBD!

NOT A WATER BUCKET

The bucket bag style is also very on trend for 2024, simple classic lines with lots of room inside! Next to Kate Spade, Tory Burch is another of my top favorites in the handbag world. This McGraw Leather Bucket Bag by Tory Burch in the color Brie is so timeless, it would be a great investment in your wardrobe. Two very affordable options in the bucket bag category are the Zara Minimalist Bucket Bag and the H&M Bucket Bag, both great ways to carry out this trend without spending a ton. Snakeskin is also on trend in 2024 so this J. Crew Berkeley Bucket Bag in Italian Snake-Embossed Leather definitely caught my eye! Coach was another brand that has great bucket bag options and the Dakota Bucket Bag in Army Green Glovetanned Leather was one of my favorites for sure!

OVERSIZED IS THE BEST SIZE

I always seem to go with the biggest bag I can carry. Hot tip, keep things inside of your bag in smaller little zipper bags so things don’t get lost in these big guys. A splurge worthy pick is the Darren Signature Carryall Bag by Rebecca Minkoff. I am showing it in the Caramello Grained Leather, but it is available in four color ways. The Jennings Tote from Anthropologie is a great way to get this look without a huge size, it is 18.5″ in length but only 12″ high with a nice 10″ strap drop. The most affordable picks in the oversized look are the H&M Shopping Back in Light Gray, the Zara Tote Bag in Black and the Modern Work Tote Handbag from Target in off white.

DREAM WEAVERS

I think that the woven trend is going to be everywhere this spring and summer and I am here for it! Anthropologie’s Wicker Top Handle Lady Bag in White is so classic and cute and also comes in three different color options. The two oversized options in this wovens are the Allington Straw Tote in Black and Natural and the Como Woven Straw Tote in White. The June Straw Crossbody Bag in Lilac is a great way to add a pop of color in the woven look. Target’s Puff Clutch in Natural and the Tropic Handbag are the two most budget conscious options and are two of my favorites!

BABY BLUES

The light, feminine feel of the light blue bag is going to be so aesthetic with spring and summer outfits especially this season. Kate Spade’s Knott Croc-embossed Medium Crossbody Tote in North Star is so versatile as a crossbody or tote option. Anthropologie has three of my favorites, The Brigitte Satchel by Melie Bianco in Sky, The Love Knot Slouchy Bag in Light Blue and the adorable Celeste Mini Lady Bag also in Light Blue. The Zara Soft Mini Bag in blue is so fun with the gold chain and shoulder strap option!

COMING IN CLUTCH

Clutches are great to have a collection of for special events and also for a quick shopping trip where you may not want to bring along your oversized purse! J. Crew’s KAYU® Jen Clutch with White Stone in Grey is so unique with a stone clasp. Kate Spade’s Kisslock Woven Small Clutch is so fun in a woven Rose Jam color. Elegant and versatile is the Aneka Pleated Shine Clutch by Nina in Rose Gold, also available in Champagne and Steel. Target has many clutch options this season, two of my favorites are the Minaudiere Clutch in Cream and the Puff Clutch again, this time in Black!

RED HOT

Red is hot this season in shoes, clothing and handbags! Anthropologie came in with two of my favorites again with the Asymmetrical Buckle Shoulder Bag in Tomato and the Lindy Woven Clutch in Red. I love the style of the Karl Lagerfeld Nouvelle Medium Satchel, classic but still modern edges. H&M has another great budget friendly option with the Chain-detail Coated Shoulder Bag in Red.

AROUND THE BEND

Last but certainly not least is the round bag trend! We are seeing the croc leather again here with the Lane Croc Embossed Leather Crossbody Bag by Brahmin. Currently on a great sale right now, the Coach Canteen Crossbody in Denim is a steal! I am loving the modern, sleek feel of the Staud Moon Leather Saddle Bag! Target also has a great option in the round trend with the Canteen Crossbody Bag in off-white, also available in Brown and Light Blue Denim.
