I have been talking a lot lately about transitioning into spring and while I am doing that for sure we are still dealing with colder temps and one of my least favorite beauty issues…DRY SKIN. My skin type tends to be on the normal to dry end but during the cold winter months especially I go more towards the dry side. I have gone back and forth between expensive products to more affordable products in the past few years and I have settled into a pretty great routine that I wanted to share! I am obviously NOT a dermatologist and this is in no means any type of medical recommendation but more a personal review of affordable skin care products that I have been using and really love.

MORNING AND DAYTIME PRODUCTS ON REPEAT
My current favorite cleanser is this oil based cleanser from CeraVe. It is perfect during these dryer months without making me oily at all! It even foams up a little which I love! My go to basic cleanser is this cleanser also from CeraVe! Right after I wash my face I have been using the new Hydrating Toner that hasn’t dried my skin out at all which is hard! Right after my toner I spray my whole face down with the Coconut Mist from Elf. This is probably my favorite part of my routine, it feels very glamorous and all at the same time it is super refreshing!

NEXT STEPS EYE CREAM AND HYALURONIC ACID
I researched a little, thank you Google, and I started using the Coconut Mist primarily because I read that hyaluronic acids work best if they are applied while the skin is still damp or after a facial mist. So I love this hyaluronic acid from Ordinary, its super inexpensive and soaks right in if you let it sit for a minute. I also use the eye cream from Elf right after the mist as well. If it is day time I follow up with my daytime moisturiser (see below) but if it’s nighttime I follow up with my favorite hydrating cream the Hydro Boost. It feels cooling when applied to the face and have been using this for about a year now. My husband has even started using this one! In the evening, once all of these products have soaked in I apply a thin layer of the Rose Hip Seed Oil also from Ordinary! Again, this feels a little more luxurious but also at a great price point! Hot top, this oil is also great on your hands and even on the ends of your hair!

DAYTIME MOISTURIZER AND MORE FAVORITE MOISTURIZERS
My favorite daytime moisturiser right now is the Elta MD UV Daily. I love knowing I have SPF on every day, hello sun spots and wrinkles…yikes! This one goes perfectly alone or underneath makeup. My daughter and my favorite moisturizers without SPF are the Weleda Skin Food, they have both a light cream and heavier cream. Aquaphor is always a staple in every bathroom in our house, we use it on dry, chapped lips and I just started putting it on my cuticles every night before bed and have been so happy with the results!!
HOW TO LAYER ALL OF THESE PRODUCTS
I have done lots of research this past year, again thank you Google, on the best order to apply all of my products and it has made a HUGE difference in their effectiveness! Here is what I have found!

I hope this gives you some new products to try! What are your favorite products? Do you have a skin care routine that you love? I want to hear about it!! Until next time lovers!!

I love several of the same products but like the idea of the facial mist. Will definitely be purchasing!!
Yes!! I’m on my third bottle of it and I really love it!
